Today, I was sitting in my armchair, looking out at the street. The sun's rays were dancing on the leaves of fall and creating a glow on the pavement.
As night rolls in, so does the mist and impending fog. I think that I could take this example two ways. As the fog starts in, the entire block is shrouded and shadowed, until the trees and buildings are nothing but vague spectral forms that give cause for pause. Or the fog is a dance of mystery, a voice that beckons, come see what is beyond me. Just wait and I will open up and you can see the sun rays light the street.
The bewildering cold that is midnight, sends more than a chill, it reminds me of dark times, friends lost, relationships that are teetering and the things I could have done better. or the night brings fascination with the stars, their number, beauty and brightness, the imagination of other worlds, other suns that light other planets, and how God's creation is always moving, always changing in its dymanic.
See, I am a firm believer that life is an everchanging force. I do not believe in anything remaining static. After all, even the solid subjects we look at are mere reflections of interrupted light, or light permitted. Atoms, molecules, nanocells.
Instead of noticing the wide expanse of the beach, I notice the sand. My favorite rocks on a shore are the tiniest pebbles. It is the smallest things that give the most happiness, and make the most difference. The sand moves, because the tide moves each grain, and as each grain shifts, it pushes on another. Tectonic plates shift, ever changing the tides and our coastline. Powerful waves wash over rocks and spill them. A single footprint carries grains for miles.
When we look at life that way in the most acuteness of sense, then does the huge things in our way really matter? Does the huge dune up ahead seem so large? Is the fog so despairing? Can we break through this path, this wall, this fog?
Can we bend our perception just a bit? Can we seek further than the edges and find other views from where we stand? Must we walk a distance to find those views?
Can we change them? Rebuild?
At least I hope we can.
I hope that the matters that are prevalent in my life, whether in sun or fog, still dance, move, have a rhythm of purpose. I pray that certain friendships will no longer stay lost, or that relationships will grow deeper, and love will abound. Most of all love, to abide in grace, and grow in hearts.
If I could have anything I wanted for Christmas, my gift would be the renewal of love, the freshness of the sun dancing on the street. The newness of a fresh fallen snow, the coziness of a good book, and the fellowship of friends and family.
Happy holidays everyone. I hope you find the way through the fog of your life and see it for what it is, the welcoming of the sun and dew of a new morning.

Little Pearls
Sorry that I have not poked my head in here.
A lot of distractions have happened in the last three months. Who doesn't have them?
Life refused to stop interrupting.
I send my condolences to those who have lost their loved ones during 9/11 or their sons and daughters in the war. My heart goes out to families who lost loved ones to cancer or age. i send virtual roses to all of you. Hugs and sympathy. Keep looking at the beautiful parts of life and look forward.
I miss my mother. It has been two years since her passing. I was ready to move a step forward, yet one mention of her in a letter set me back. There is no getting over something like this, but there is a time when you wake up and feel hopeful that you can go through the day, and that you can stand on your own. It is a nice release to feel nothing but love and to be able to think about a person you miss with joy. I thought I had reached that part, but not so yet. While I still grieve, I try to remain positive and think of the cheerful part of our lives. Mom was one who always told me to celebrate life. I miss our patio talks. I draw strength in that she loved me, and that she taught me to keep looking forward.
I am a person who likes to toss cares into the wind, or into the ocean and let them be carried. When I find I dwell too much on one thought, I toss it to the Heavenly Father and let him handle it. He knows far better than I how to fix my heart.
Missing my Friend
Feeling blue. It is raining,
and I like the rain
welcome the rain during this heat,
but I am blue.
I miss my friend.
Life has a hole in it without your voice.
The atmosphere does not feel quite right.
I lost a friend.
A friend for years whom I cherish still,
friendships come and go,
and some stay forever.
I wish this one would get back and stay.
Always Moving
Friendship like life may come to a road,
sometimes a person has to travel a road they do not want to drive on,
The beauty of roads is that they are temporary.
A road means movement, changes.
sometimes a road just dead ends without warning
Do we stay in the end, or do we turn? The thing about roads that end,
they end wide enough to turn around in.
I am hoping that friendship is rather like a wide turn around or a circle drive,
and that by grace, with help of forgiveness,
we will both follow the road
where we will meet back again.
To all my friends, family and acquaintances, I love you.

He Is Risen, and We will Rise
Wow! Happy Easter!
I'm so excited. Easter is my favorite holiday. There is so much to Easter to wrap our heads around.
Just think - Life, promise, rebirth, joy...Like the weather changes in Spring, God can change our lives into something remarkably new.
Jesus, being the Son of God, took all our sins and put them on the cross. He said, It is finished.
No more could life hang at status quo. Jesus was not happy with the status quo. He stole the keys to death, hell and the grave, so that no more bottom chasing was to be had. Satan tried to kill him and thought he got away with it, but nope. That was that. He had had it with Satan's con games on us, and Jesus showed him that was not going to put up with losing us again! He snatched those keys, got up and made a way to redeem us. That was that. It was done. Finished.
However, Jesus did not stop there.
On the third day, some women looked in the grave and He was not there! He rose from death. He was seen out of that grave and then was witnessed being transformed up to Heaven. He took His rightful place beside God. He rocked the universe on that day. He changed things on that day for us for eternity. No more could things stay the same. No more staying in the ashes. Even death could not defeat him. Jesus rose again!
Today we celebrate Easter. Jesus is risen! He is at the right hand of the Father telling God to forgive us because we don't know what we do. He tells God what we need, what we pray for. No matter if we don't feel worthy, Jesus loves us.
Jesus' love did not stop in the tomb. It lives on today.
He went to Heaven to prepare a place for us..
He gave us a promise. If we confess our sins, confess with our mouths that JESUS is the Son of God, and believe, We can be saved. We can be forgiven of our past faults, and bad decisions. If we confess that He is real and believe that He is God's son and that He forgives us, We have the gift then of eternal life in Him.
It is that simple.
We don't have to remain in the status quo in life or in spirit. If we believe, we can rise above where we are. That is the most beautiful promise in all of Jesus' actions.
Today, I am overjoyed because I know that I don't have to put up with sin, I don't have to carry it around. I can say Father forgive me. I can go to God in faith and through faith activate that part of the Spirit that says live. I can ask God for help.
And it doesn't stop there.
Just as Jesus rose, We will rise.
Soon he will return and we will rise up to be with him for all of eternity. No more sadness, sorrow, pain or suffering. All is joy, newness and life.
Meanwhile, we don't have to let this life get us down. We can rise. No matter the circumstance, look up. Jesus made a way for us to rise above it.
Make a conscious decision to rise above where you are now. Ask God for help, ask Jesus for mercy. Get up and be renewed. Rise above the doubt. Rise above the ashes. You are meant to rejoice and be happy. You are God's creation. He desires to know you and for you to know him through Jesus.
Will you accept Jesus as your savior? Will you acknowledge the Son of God? You don't have to remain status quo. You can rise up and start over and become the person God wants you to be.
Heavenly Father, help us lay aside yesterday's sin. You are the Son of God. We worship before you. Help us arise in you, just as you rose again for us to be all you want us to be in You.
Rejoice! Look Up! Jesus is Alive and You are alive in Christ.
Praise Him, for like Him, you will Rise again!

Writing in the Sand
Sorry that I have been away for so long. I have been writing to the bones. Editing my novel.
I was recently asked to do a write up about what writing meant to me. All the while that I was writing and thinking about how words have been a constant companion, how thoughts and feelings translate on the page, I thought of how writing correlates with my relationship with Christ. God is always my constant. Jesus is a friend I can talk to when no-one else is around. God is everywhere, and freedom, his peace gives a feeling of being free like nothing else. When I create, I feel close to the creator. Seeing this analogy left a wonderful feeling inside my heart that I could not help but share.
Lord, help us to see you in all things, and rejoice in that life is truly a gift.
