Sailing New Seas

Hello, My Sweet Friends and Visitors.
Yes, she is back. After a long time of silence, I am now able to write again.
Since my husband passed to Heaven in 2018, I have been catching up with life and discovering who I am as a person, and writer. During this discovery, I have begun writing again, and also painting. Thank you for standing by me and for your patience. I appreciate you.

The day my husband died I saw Jesus with his hand outstretched toward me. He said, I will take care of you. Days before that time, I was fully disabled. I can walk now, go on bus rides, and play with my Pupalo, my dog. God has healed me in so many ways.

There were no easy oceans to cross in my grief. Often, I felt like I was being tossed out of the boat. But then I remembered who shined the light so brightly from the shores. I recalled the Son of God, who had said he would take care of me.

The same Son of God who walked on the water to his disciples so long ago. They faced storms too. He knew they would be afraid, and he wanted to provide comfort. He helped them. There was another event, where he sat on the shore cooking fish for them.

His disciples followed him closely, learning all that they could about him. But was it only Jesus they were learning about? When we read the book of Acts, we see the apostles got bolder and braver. Peter stood against the Pharisees and told them they crucified the Son of God. He preached the gospel even at the threat of death. The disciples were told that after they were filled with the Holy Ghost, they would receive power from on high. God gives us that power today, so we can sail our ships toward the course he chose for our lives.

Through the hard knocks, we find out who we really are and what and who we can become. Consider each challenge as another ocean we have to cross. Will our ship make it? How do we go forward past something like grief? We can't. We have to ride out the tide. However, we are not alone, for Jesus is with us. Walking on that water.

Once we get on that boat, there is nothing to say about where we will end up. But that does not mean the journey can't be joyful. On the journey, we can stop to watch a beautiful sunrise while sipping the most excellent coffee or tea, or we can watch a painted sunset in the cool breezes of summer evenings. We can paint, draw, write, or just look at the stars with new wonder.

Often, we creatives get shrouded in caring for other people, and even in writing, so much so that we lose sight of who we truly are. We drown in writing, in song, in art, either by chance or purposely avoiding looking deep within.  Then, a life-changing moment occurs, when we are forced to look inside, not only to find ourselves, who we are, but to find our relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Only then can we see ourselves the way Jesus sees us, with love.

It is quite an eye-opener to find out we are not that person whom we always thought we were.  Jesus can bring a positive change, a chance to start over. His grace gives us a chance to explore new possibilities which we never imagined possible.

Do you know Jesus today? Ask him to be your Lord and Savior and to guide the direction of your ship. He loves you, and you will be amazed at your new beginnings in Him.

Our Heavenly Father, we thank you for your painted skies, your love, your guidance. We thank you that when we are lost, you shine a light to guide us to you. Go with everyone today and bless them, guide them. For you love them like none other. Please take care of them, as you care for me.

God bless you Everyone,

Cyg
